Patiala, 28 March – Newsline Express: Amid escalating global tensions, particularly involving the United States and Gulf nations, a noticeable rise in demand for petrol, diesel, gas, and other essential commodities has been observed across the country.
In response to the situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in Parliament that the government has decided to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel in order to keep fuel prices stable and under control in the domestic market.
Reacting to the decision, senior BJP leader Dr. Gurvinder Kansal described the move as “historic,” saying it would bring significant relief to the common people. He added that any reduction in fuel prices would help lower transportation costs, ultimately benefiting consumers.
He said, “The Modi government is closely monitoring the situation and taking timely decisions in the interest of the nation.”
Dr. Kansal also appealed to the public not to panic, assuring that there is adequate availability of petrol, diesel, and gas in the country, and there is no need for unnecessary hoarding.

ਇਸ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੈਟਰੋਲ ‘ਤੇ ਐਕਸਾਈਜ਼ ਡਿਊਟੀ 13 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ 3 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਜ਼ਲ ‘ਤੇ 10 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ 0 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮਾਰਕੀਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਧਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਕਾਂਸਲ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ “ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ” ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇੰਧਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਘਟਣ ਨਾਲ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਖਰਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮੀ ਆਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਲਾਭ ਜਨਤਾ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੇਗਾ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੋਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਹਰ ਸਥਿਤੀ ‘ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਹਿਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਲੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।”
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਟਰੋਲ, ਡੀਜ਼ਲ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚੁਰ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਘਬਰਾਹਟ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਵਾਧੂ ਸਟਾਕ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। *Newsline Express*
